The 400 Blows meets Straight Time. Based on the popular novel by Edward Bunker
At the age of 11 years old, Alex Hammond has already been in a lot of trouble. Rebellious since his parents split up and his mother disappeared, he is constantly running away from foster homes and institutions, yearning to be with his beloved father Clem. After his father dies, Alex is left with no family and at the mercy of a system he doesn’t understand, surrounded by well-meaning social workers, domineering authority figures and criminally-minded peers. With literature as his only companion, Alex is on a collision course with the law and himself.
